Power of the Basics: a Free Acting Workshop

Steve Cleberg provides a basis for understanding the art of acting in this free workshop. This workshop is for all actors, whether you are new to tackling the process of acting or need an excuse to return to the foundation. Steve Cleberg will guide participants to use Three Questions to understand the heart of the craft. Through exercises and scene study, participants will walk away with a clearer understanding of what it takes to be an effective actor.

1:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. The Basics– A Conscious Process to the Subconscious, Getting to the Basics with Three Questions, Building on the Three Questions
1:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Workout/Acting Exercises– Playing Objectives, Playing Obstacles, Playing Tactics
1:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. The Internal Process– Playing the internal chain exercises
1:45 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Workout/Acting Exercises- Repetition exercises
2:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. How to Read the Score of the Script- Integrating the Basics into the structure of the Play, The Given Circumstances, Learning Lines, Taking Flight
2:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Conclusion– Integrating the basics into monologue work and scene work
